Nordmann’s European team ramps up activities in silicone elastomers and electronics

Twenty-two years ago, Frederik Röhrs joined Nordmann as an apprentice. Now Sales Director for Rubber in both Germany and Switzerland, he also took on the job of Sales Director Europe Silicone Elastomers & Electronics at the beginning of 2024. Nordmann News spoke to Frederik about the first few months in his new position, as well as the opportunities and challenges he has seen over the course of his career at Nordmann.

Frederik, why does Nordmann want to expand its sales force for Silicone Elastomers & Electronics in Europe?

At Nordmann, we’ve defined silicone elastomers and electronics as key growth sectors. We see outstanding opportunities and possibilities in both of these fields in the European market.

We’ve been distributing a diverse range of liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) for years now, and we also have our own brand of ready-to-use silicone and fluorosilicone compounds – NORCOMP – that plays a special role. We want to invest further in these two markets, and this also means expanding our sales team in the medium- to long-term future. I’ll be working alongside my European colleagues to these ends and am already looking forward to the tasks ahead. The first few months have been very interesting, and there are many exciting projects on the horizon.

You once said that doing business at the right speed is the key to success. What did you mean by that?

It’s about having a systematic approach toward our sales activities on a European level and continuing to drive these forward, along with our sales force. Our aim is to foster the sharing of experience at each of our Nordmann locations, utilize synergies and continue building expertise. Doing so will allow us to better serve the interests of our suppliers in terms of market coverage and developing new concepts, as well as respond most effectively to the needs of local customers. The only way to do this in such a dynamic market, however, is through good teamwork – which is why it’s so important to me to keep developing our staff. Our success will only be sustainable if we‘re able to get things done.

When you look back at the past 22 years at Nordmann, what have you seen and experienced?

The company has more than doubled in size since I started working here, but its values have remained the same. Personal involvement and interaction are what count! The relationships between individuals, the teamwork and the working together with external partners are what distinguishes Nordmann as a family business. We do things at Nordmann based on conviction and not just because they sound good. For me, that’s one of the biggest strengths of our company.
