Driving Innovation: Nordmann's Application Labs and Technical Centre

Nordmann News: Thank you for joining us today, Dr. Bergmann. Can you give us some insight into Nordmann's recent expansions?

Dr. Gerd Bergmann: At Nordmann we know that every great solution starts with the right ingredients and raw materials, which requires a deep understanding of the final applications. Nordmann’s diversified product portfolio, good market knowledge, and strong regulatory expertise make us a trusted partner for suppliers as well as for customers. We go beyond sourcing - we deliver solutions.

Since 2023, Nordmann has established four new application laboratories and a coatings technical centre, bringing our total to seven. This shows the importance that Nordmann places to research and development. In line with our slogan “Knowledge in action”, we see the future in knowledge, innovation and a wealth of new ideas, all brought into action at our esteemed customers.

Nordmann News: What services does Nordmann offer?

Dr. Bergmann: We offer a full range of application laboratory services, including customized formulations, product testing, regulation advice, and extensive sales support. Our application expert teams stay updated on market trends to actively pursue innovative solutions, replace regulated substances and develop new formulations.

Nordmann News: Can you tell us more about the Coatings Technical Centre in Macclesfield, UK?

Dr. Bergmann: Certainly. The Coatings Technical Centre is designed to support our research and development efforts specifically in the coatings sector. Equipped with state-of-the-art instruments from our partner BYK-Gardner, it exemplifies our commitment to innovation and excellence in the chemical industry. It is located in an area with many local UK customers, ensuring close proximity to end users, but is also used extensively by our global coatings network.

Nordmann News: How does the Nordmann Lab+ fit into your overall strategy?

Dr. Bergmann: Nordmann Lab+ is our virtual lab platform. It provides detailed insights, information on formulations, and highlights new applications and trends in a virtual space. This innovative platform allows customers and suppliers to explore the world of cosmetics applications and formulations from their own location in a relatively simple and barrier-free access. From May, we will also be opening the Lab+ to food and health care applications. It will be worth looking forward to.

Dr. Bergmann: Nordmann Lab+ offers customer-driven product development, guide formulations, finished samples, application support, customer training, and webinars. It’s fun and a convenient way to stay informed and connected with our latest developments.
