Nordmann to appear at the 2024 Fakuma

Multinational chemical distributor Nordmann will soon be presenting its diverse and innovative portfolio of additives, flame retardants and thermoplastic materials at the upcoming 2024 Fakuma trade show. In collaboration with its partners and co-exhibitors Repol/UBE, TotalEnergies Corbion and VOELPKER, Nordmann will be promoting a range of new solutions relating to sustainability and recycling. Visitors are invited to connect with Nordmann and its representatives in Friedrichshafen from October 15-19 in Hall B5 at Stand B5-5214.

As Nordmann Germany’s Business Manager for Polymer Additives Christian Schur explains, “For years now, we’ve been building an extensive range of products that supports recycling. A great example are the multifunctional wax additives in the Plastic Recycling Series from our co-exhibitor VOELPKER that help support the production of especially high-quality recyclates. VOELPKER’s CEVO® special waxes and additive formulations, too, are an additional portfolio highlight because of how they improve flow properties and surface quality as well as filler and pigment dispersion. Our strategic supplier Kraton also offers innovative solutions for recyclers, processors and brand manufacturers. Kraton’s CirKular+™ trademark, for example, was specially designed to support plastics upcycling and the modification of bioplastics.”

Schur continues: “We’ve also been distributing a universal processing aid in Europe, bFI A 3745, from our new partner Polytives since April of this year. This pioneering material allows for significant energy savings when it comes to standard processing methods like injection molding and extrusion, allowing for lower throughput times and increased output while making sure that finished polymers still have the desired properties. The additives in the bFI family are therefore currently in high demand by manufacturers, and they are also incredibly attractive from a circular economy perspective. Additionally, our own product line of antioxidants and UV stabilizers, NORANTOX®, can help support both new plastics and recycled materials.”

Nordmann will be showcasing its own range of halogen-free, innovative flame retardants, NORD-MIN® FRMB, at the 2024 Fakuma. Developed and distributed by Nordmann, these masterbatches have come to be in high demand as regulatory requirements for the European market become increasingly strict with regard to environmental and health issues.

At the same time, the automotive industry is witnessing a surge in demand for plastic components with at least 25% recycled content. Of this, a quarter is to be sourced from the automotive industry’s own recycling streams. In certain instances, the automotive industry is implementing regulations that are currently under deliberation in the EU to amend the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive.

In cooperation with its new supplier Sirmax, Nordmann distributes innovative PPGF products that offer proven compliance with the above specifications. Nordmann also works with Repol, part of the UBE Group, in order to provide similar solutions. Repol supplies technical plastic compounds that meet the requirements of the automotive industry. Finalloy, as part of TotalEnergies, also makes PP compounds with recycled content that fulfill the same standards.

Nordmann will also be showcasing several other new products at the trade fair in October. As Nico Vossers, Business Manager Europe Thermoplastics at Nordmann, comments: “We’ve been working with our partner Wanhua on Wanthane TPU for 11 years now, and at the upcoming Fakuma, we’ll be presenting our latest portfolio additions: Clarnate® PC, Acryplas® PMMA and Wanelite® PEBA. We’re also pleased to be distributing Wanhua’s new Wansuper® POE, which are available as both butene and octene copolymers. I’m incredibly eager about this year’s Fakuma and the opportunity to exchange ideas with our customers there. I’m confident that our newly expanded portfolio will generate a lot of interest and bring about many new contacts. I’m also optimistic because we’re working together with existing customers on a variety of different future-oriented projects, as well as to develop customized solutions. This has been the key to our success even in a difficult economic climate, and we’ve chosen to reflect this in our trade fair slogan for this year: ‘Raw materials for success – Developing your business in plastics’.”

The Fakuma expo offers the perfect setting to discuss potential business opportunities with Nordmann experts and gain insight into the company’s comprehensive portfolio and new product developments. With Plastics team representatives coming from all over Europe to attend the show, Nordmann will be underscoring its international focus and the cross-border, solutions-oriented expertise it can provide.

Visitors will find Nordmann at the 2024 Fakuma in Friedrichshafen from October 15-19 in Hall B5, Stand B5-5214.
