Daikin: a symbol of long-term partnership

Daikin Industries has been at the forefront of fluorochemical research and production since 1933 and today is one of the world’s leading manufacturers in this field.
DKT 2024

Meet us in Hall 9, Booth 9-101

Nordmann will soon be attending the next DKT, a major expo for the international rubber industry. From 1-4 July, the company will be hosting a booth there together with partners Cancarb, Daikin, Ergon, Shenzhen Guanheng and Imerys.

We would like to take the opportunity and introduce our co-exhibitors in detail!

A Nordmann partner for the past 49 years, Daikin is also an indispensable source of expertise for a diverse range of industries. Its world-class technology and extensive product portfolio cater to a vast array of applications in the automotive sector, semiconductors, healthcare, renewable energy, the wire and cable industries, textiles, paper and packaging, optics, coatings and more.

Products

Daikin’s comprehensive portfolio of fluorine rubber (FKM) encompasses a full range of copolymers and terpolymers for bisphenol and peroxide vulcanization, including low-temperature FKM (Tg = -30°C) and perfluoroelastomers (FFKM). Daikin supplies base-resistant fluoroelastomers (BRE) with excellent mechanical properties that satisfy even the highest industry standards. The company’s portfolio also includes fluorothermoplastic elastomers that feature a distinctive combination of low permeation rates, low modulus of elasticity (i.e. high flexibility) and excellent processing characteristics.

Daikin products include:

  • Bisphenol-curable co- and terpolymer gums
  • Bisphenol-curable co- and terpolymer pre-compounds (crosslinker incorporated)
  • Perfluoroelastomers (FFKM): curable with peroxide or a special curing system
  • Peroxide-curable co- and terpolymers
  • Low-temperature (LT) fluorine rubber: peroxide-curable
  • Thermoplastic elastomers (F-TPV)
  • Base-resistant (BRE) fluorine rubber: peroxide-curable

The controversy surrounding PFAS (= per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) led to the development of Daikin’s SF (soap-free) range. These materials contain no PFAS compounds and represent a new generation of FKM polymers from Daikin. The first samples are now available.

Julia Schirmer, Technical Sales & Product Manager, Nordmann Germany:

“This year’s DKT will be my first with Nordmann. I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know our customers and suppliers there. It will also be a great opportunity to see colleagues from abroad and exchange ideas with them.”

Laurent Zielezinski, Vice President Sales Daikin Chemical Europe:

“We’re thrilled to be co-exhibiting alongside Nordmann at the DKT this year! Our partnership with Nordmann represents a powerful synergy of expertise and innovation that has lasted nearly 50 years. Collaborating in this way for almost half a century now is something truly special, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase our combined strengths and know-how together at the upcoming event. The DKT will also be the ideal occasion to introduce Daikin’s latest advances in FKM, utilizing a new polymerization process without fluorosurfactants that underscores our commitment to building a sustainable future.”
